Feel the nearness of the sky and breathe the pure air blowing around the rough mountains in the Valley of God. This 12 day retreat is meant to take you to the beauties of the Himalayas, offer an authentic India experience and liven the body and mind through yoga and ceremony.
This workshop is meant to take all levels of practitioners into a deeper understanding of movement in the body. We not only need to be brave enough to take the next step, but need to take the step with wisdom. Systematically warming up the body, breaking down concepts that live within the structural movements, and offering different training techniques to start new poses, student will always have something to try and leave with new tool to vary their excited for new poses.

Former residents and teachers of the Austin Bikram scene, Gianna, Afton, Kathy, Erin, and LiFi found each other as our Yoga Nerd Home-base. Over three days, teachers are taken through 8 hours of continuing education. Teachers will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their class, break down the postures they know, learn the anatomy and cueing of new poses, practice traditional hatha techniques, learn meditation and pranayama practices to stay centered as a teacher, and refine their teaching methods.
A teacher of traditional hatha practices, gianna’s series of workshops will entail variations of what makes up the entirety of hatha yoga. These classes are meant for all levels, combine asana, pranayama, kriya, mantra, mudra, and meditation.
3 hour Maha Hatha Sadhana
90 minute psychic development class
2 hour maha hatha - inversions and strength
2 hour maha hatha - backbends and twists
Gianna will be spending time in Miami for a little chunk of September to teach Maha Hatha, 26&2 Hot Yoga, and 2 Hour yoga on Original Hot Yoga 305’s public schedule.
Maha Hatha 9:30 - 11am
This all leveled class takes practitioners through the classic maha hatha practice, touching on all body movements and to offer and adventurous approach to healing in the hot room
Maha Hatha Sadhana 10-2pm
Venturing further into the depths of the asanas, breath work, and meditation, this sadhana or deep practice is where all students can see what the process of progressions physically and energetically feels like.
Over the course of two hours, students are taken through a warm up to introduce the body mechanics necessary to start inverting and play with the a variety of hand halances.

12:30-2:30 Bikram Alignment workshop:
This workshop will cover concepts and themes that are woven through class to make attainable ways for students to practice and advance their 26&2 understanding.
3-5 Progressive Hatha Class:
This class is for all levels and adds perspective to where the 26&2 starts you, where it can go, and training techniques to help the body open in different ways for the next steps in your yoga evolution. There is always something to do no matter your practice level.
In 300 hours, you will learn to teach the classic 26+2 hot yoga series. Our team of asana and anatomy experts, including Gianna Purcell, Kathy Durham and Erin Frank will provide you with the tools you need to effectively deliver a precise, informative, and therapeutic class. Alignment, benefits, and language for safely presenting the postures will be covered as well as teaching techniques and methodology, anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy and ethics, and the business of yoga with practical application.
